About Me

My name is Gregory Koberger. I go to Rochester Institute of Technology for Information Technology, with a minor in Computer Science. I'm a Resident Advisor for RIT's ResLife, and a developer for the RIT Lab for Social Computing. I have previously worked at GigaOM Network and Offbeat Guides.

I'm from a small town called Schaghticoke, NY- there's nothing nearby, so all I had that I could do was use a computer. Although, I have also lived in San Francisco and spent four years at RIT, and spent the same amount of time in front of a monitor… so maybe it's just me.

I've been developing websites for almost 10 years- a pretty significant chunk of my 21 years on this planet. It's my major, my job and most importantly my hobby. I prefer to work with PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, XHTML, CSS and mySQL, although every once in a while I venture out and use other languages.

I have three goals, professionally: to have a Wikipedia article written about me, to get invited to TED and to appear in Wired. I am obsessed with xkcd, Girl Talk, Scrubs and sushi, and I'm strongly against Internet Explorer 6, solid colored socks and the Oxford comma.

About this Site

Both this site and my blog were designed completely in Photoshop CS4, and coded by hand in Netbeans PHP. This site runs on Drupal, while the blog uses WordPress. I used jQuery for all my JavaScript-y needs. With the exception of the wonderful Komodo Media Social Network Icons, all graphics were created by me.
